We attended a beautiful wedding in South Carolina over the weekend. Ben's cousin, Megan, married Jeff - and they are now Mr. and Mrs. Slaughter. It was such a lovely wedding. I sat watching Megan and Jeff at their alter, exchanging rings and words of love & eternity - it was perfect. When you are the bride and groom, the day whizzes by before your eyes, you are nervous about not tripping and doing the right thing at just the right moment, is there enough food, are the right people sitting together... Sometimes you miss all the sweet touches; but when you are a guest, you can sit back and enjoy every little moment, taking in all the details that were so thoughtfully put together. Which I did at Megan and Jeff's wedding - the light from the candles, the warm fall colors and the pumpkins, the unique flowers at each table, the grand entrance that the bride and groom shared (Jeff entering by himself and Megan shortly following running into his arms!), the delicious food, the notes of wisdom for the bride and groom that YOU chose when the newlyweds were to open and read, the fireworks display as the new Mr. & Mrs. made their getaway. It was a day everyone will remember.

This weekend was also special because the entire Hileman Family was together after soo long. It was so great to see everyone. The grandparents (new ones and "originals"), sisters and brothers, the aunts and uncles, the cousins and second cousins...everyone was together. We had a great time, despite the stresses that come with a non-sleeping two year old! Thats a whole different story!!
I tried my best to get some good pictures, unfortunately they are mostly of the little ones - with Madelyn in the wedding, I didn't have my camera out much during the ceremony. But I got some fun moments, the cousins acted like they had grown up together - how great to be a kid!
